Petar II Petrović Njegoš

Petar II Petrović Njegoš (1813-1851), known as Prince-Bishop Rade (born Rade Tomov Petrović), was a Montenegrin poet and philosopher. His literary works are among the most significant works of Montenegrin literature. Njegoš was educated in several monasteries and became the spiritual and political leader of the country after the death of his uncle Peter I. Njegoš is well known for his epic poem "Gorski vijenac" whose quotes are often engraved on gusle instrument.

Filip Višnjić

Filip Višnjić (1767-1834), one of the most famous Serbian gusle players and folk poets. As a child he went blind from smallpox, so as a blind he learned to play gusle and sing with it. In the beginning he sang other's songs, and later he sang 13 original and historically very accurate songs, published by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić. Because of his poems, he was dubbed the Serbian Homer.

Eagle

Eagles are bigger and stronger than other prey birds. Their exceptional vision allows them to spot potential prey from great distance. Eagle has meaningful place in our culture, regarded as ruler of heavenly heights, the only one who can conquer all. They appear on the coats of arms and flags of many countries as symbol of power and strength. On the gusle instrument eagle symbolizes freedom and it's frequently carved on the head of the instrument.

Chapel on Lovćen

The church-chapel in Lovćen is dedicated to Saint Peter of Cetinje. It was located on Jezerski vrh. The chapel was built by Petar II Petrović Njegoš in 1845 in honor of his uncle. Njegoš had a wish to be buried there. During two world wars, it was demolished and rebuilt, and the final demolition of the chapel was in 1972, in order to free up space for the construction of a mausoleum.

"Receptive, responsible, kind, ready to help with the selection, if you are choosing a gift for someone. Immediacy and friendliness are certainly two qualities that set them apart from everyone else, and for that reason they were also the reason for their selection. Very high quality, great sounding gusle, and I will certainly return to them again and wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone! 5* and big BRAVO! [Note: google translate]"

"The first thing that comes to mind is how very flexible everyone has been with shipping. The gusle was supposed to arrive in Prague in 12 days for my husband's birthday. In order for them to succeed, even their uncle, who happened to be visiting them, helped. If it weren't for him, the surprise wouldn't have worked this year for sure. When we finally opened them for the birthday, I was speechless. I bought them through the website, I have never been in their store or ever held a violin in my hands. They are so perfectly made, such a sound comes out of them that we and all our friends here who had the opportunity to see them, were very pleasantly surprised. I bought a gusle quite by accident, which can not only be used as an instrument, but also a beautiful decoration in our living room. I am quite sure that they will be passed on to the next generations with joy and as a great honor. Thank you for that. [Note: google translate]"
